Arts Night Out @ Thornes - Trace Elements
Paintings by Amanda Barrow and Laurie Goddard
Amanda Barrow and Laurie Goddard are abstract artists who are inspired by architecture and nature. Amanda’s "Shape Meditations" are created by using oil pastel, ink and smoke on wood. Each piece is sanded, scratched and marked upon, allowing the true spirit of the wood to be developed. Laurie is a process-oriented artist as well, using materials at hand in new and unusual ways. Her favorite materials are encaustics, water-based paints and varnishes, and oxidized semi-precious leaf and charcoal on both hardboard panels and watercolor paper.
